About me

Whilst traveling through South East Asia and attending various classes of yoga of all styles, Emily developed a keen interest in this art. After noticing the benefits of her practice, she was inspired to take the practice more seriously. This took her to India, where she trained intensively as an instructor in the Sivananda ashram Kerala under the guidance of Swami krishnaanda. Here she studied the true disciplines of this subject and became very connected with the philosophy behind it. Since then Emily has taken further training through the school of Sivananda in the Orleans ashram in France under the guidance of Swami Kailasananda and Swami Durgananda and obtained a higher level of certification, as well as an intensive training course in Dharamshala, India with Guru Shivamji, founder of the Siddharta school of Yoga. Emily also practices vipassina meditation completing two courses to date; this has been very inspirational to her teaching deepening the awareness of sensations and control of movement. Emily has been teaching in the UK and Ireland for the last five years and more recently Dubai as well as organizing combined yoga and meditation retreats. Emily has the ability to teach a wide range of classes in Hatha, Power yoga, Ashtanga Vinyasa and yoga for kids at different levels suitable for everyone to try.

Emily has also completed training in Reiki level 1 and 2 and offers treatments on a personal basis. The interest for Reiki has been aparent since discovering the chakras of the body and the way in whcih they work, Reiki is extremely complimmentary to the practcice of Yoga and canbe of huge benefit for those who maybe less able to complete a full Yoga practice as well as well as aiding illnesses and emotional problems.
